Product Introduction

Current mainstream seawater desalination processes primarily utilize reverse osmosis (RO), low-temperature multi-effect distillation, and multi-stage flash evaporation. Among these, the RO pretreatment stage is most dependent on filter media and is also the most prone to failure. In actual operation, traditional filter media often struggle to adapt to the seawater environment, revealing numerous engineering shortcomings: First, seawater is rich in chloride ions, making it a typical highly corrosive medium. Conventional 304/316L stainless steel filter cartridges are prone to pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion with long-term use, even leading to filter body cracking and metal ion leaching that pollutes the water. Plastic and fiber filter media, on the other hand, suffer from poor temperature and pressure resistance and are prone to aging and cracking. Second, traditional filter media have short lifespans and require frequent replacements, not only increasing consumable costs but also causing system downtime for maintenance, affecting continuous water supply efficiency. Furthermore, seawater treatment systems often involve pressure fluctuations and high-temperature fluid impacts. Ordinary filter media, lacking sufficient structural strength, are prone to deformation and leakage, failing to stably intercept suspended solids, colloids, and other impurities, leading to downstream RO membrane clogging and fouling, significantly shortening membrane module lifespan and increasing overall operation and maintenance costs.

 

TOPTITECH's titanium sintered filter elements are made from high-purity titanium powder and formed through high-temperature vacuum sintering. These porous filter elements are specifically designed for harsh corrosive environments, with material and structural characteristics perfectly suited to the needs of seawater desalination. From the perspective of substrate properties, metallic titanium itself possesses extremely strong chemical inertness, rapidly forming a dense and stable titanium oxide protective film in seawater. This film effectively resists the corrosion of chloride ions, salts, and acidic/alkaline impurities, achieving long-term corrosion resistance, rust prevention, and no leaching of harmful substances. In terms of manufacturing process, vacuum high-temperature sintering technology is used, resulting in metallurgical bonding between titanium powder particles to form a three-dimensional interconnected open-pore structure with uniform and controllable pore size distribution and a porosity of 30%-40%. This ensures both high-efficiency filtration accuracy and stable fluid throughput. Simultaneously, the sintered titanium matrix exhibits excellent mechanical strength, possessing good compressive and impact resistance, capable of withstanding the high-pressure operation and pressure fluctuations of seawater treatment systems without deformation or damage, ensuring the long-term stability of the filter structure.
