Long Way of the Diamond (LWD) refers to the measurement taken from the center of one node to the center of the adjacent node in a diamond pattern. It is always parallel to the width of the coil and represents the dimension of the diamond.
Short Way of the Diamond (SWD) refers to the measurement taken from the center of one node to the center of the opposite node in a diamond pattern. It is perpendicular to the width of the coil. The SWD varies within a specific range for each fixed LWD dimension.
Processing
The production process involves expanding the sheet in its regular form, followed by passing it through a cold rolled reducing mill. This process elongates the sheet length while keeping the width unchanged. To maintain its flatness, the expanded sheet is then sent through a leveler.
