Product Introduction

Porous titanium sheet for cathode refers to a titanium sheet that has been specially designed with a porous structure for use in cathodic applications. It is commonly used in electrochemical processes, such as electrolysis or electrochemical cells, where a cathode is required.

The porous structure of the titanium sheet allows for enhanced electrochemical performance by providing a larger surface area for electrochemical reactions to occur. The pores in the sheet can be precisely controlled and tailored to meet specific requirements, such as pore size, distribution, and connectivity.

The specific design and manufacturing process of porous titanium sheets for cathodes may vary depending on the intended application and requirements. Various techniques, such as powder metallurgy, sintering, or chemical etching, can be employed to create the desired porous structure.

Product Features

Firstly, the porous titanium sheet offers several advantages in cathodic applications. The increased surface area facilitates improved mass transfer and ion diffusion, enabling more efficient electrochemical reactions. This leads to enhanced overall performance and efficiency of the cathodic process. Additionally, the porous structure promotes better gas or liquid distribution, ensuring more uniform electrode reactions. It helps prevent localized concentration changes or uneven current distribution, which can lead to inefficiencies or undesirable side reactions.

Furthermore, the porous titanium sheet exhibits excellent corrosion resistance and stability in various corrosive environments. This makes it highly suitable for long-term cathodic applications. The inherent resistance to corrosion of titanium, combined with the porous structure, enhances its ability to withstand corrosive substances. The porous structure allows for efficient drainage and prevents the accumulation of corrosive materials. As a result, the porous titanium sheet ensures the durability and reliability required for cathodic applications exposed to corrosive electrolytes or harsh operating conditions.

In summary, the porous titanium sheet provides enhanced electrode performance and efficiency in cathodic applications. Firstly, the increased surface area facilitates improved mass transfer and ion diffusion. Secondly, the porous structure promotes better gas or liquid distribution, ensuring more uniform electrode reactions. Additionally, the sheet exhibits excellent corrosion resistance and stability in corrosive environments. These combined advantages make porous titanium sheets an excellent choice for long-term cathodic applications, contributing to improved efficiency, stability, and durability in electrochemical processes.

Product form

1. Material selection: High-quality titanium with the desired properties is selected as the base material for the sheet. Titanium is chosen for its corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, and compatibility with various cathodic applications.

2. Sheet preparation: The titanium sheet is prepared by rolling or extrusion processes to achieve the desired thickness and dimensions. The sheet is typically cleaned and treated to remove any contaminants or impurities that may affect the final product's quality.

3. Porosity creation: The creation of pores in the titanium sheet is a critical step. Various methods can be employed to introduce porosity, such as chemical etching, powder metallurgy techniques, or electrochemical processes. Each method has its advantages and can yield different pore sizes and distributions.

4. Pore size control: Depending on the specific application, the pore size and distribution may need to be controlled. This can be achieved through precise control of the process parameters or by utilizing additives or masking techniques during the pore formation process.

5. Surface treatment: The porous titanium sheet may undergo surface treatment processes to improve its properties further. This can include surface modification techniques like oxidation, coating, or surface functionalization to enhance corrosion resistance, promote specific chemical reactions, or modify surface wettability.

6. Quality control: Throughout the manufacturing process, quality control measures are implemented to ensure the final product meets the required specifications. This may involve inspections, testing, and characterization techniques to verify the porosity, pore size, surface integrity, mechanical strength, and corrosion resistance of the porous titanium sheet.

7. Application-specific customization: Depending on the intended cathodic application, additional customization may be performed. This could involve shaping the sheet into a specific form, incorporating support structures, or integrating the porous titanium sheet into a larger cathodic system.

Precautions for use:

1. The supply of porous sintered titanium plates is consumable. While they are more durable than other filter elements, caution should be exercised during the cleaning and disassembly process to prevent any scratches, contact, or impact that may cause damage. It is strictly prohibited to use tools to apply force to the surface of the filter element.

2. Under normal circumstances, the filtration process should proceed from the outside to the inside of the filter element. Reverse filtration is not recommended.

3. During the filtration process, gradually increase the pressure to reach the required working pressure. It is strictly prohibited to rapidly open the valve for quick pressurization.

4. The maximum working pressure should not exceed 2MPa. If the filtration efficiency drops below 50%, it should be promptly backflushed with clean air or a clean liquid.

5. When backflushing the titanium filter element, it is generally recommended to perform an initial backflush with pure gas. The backflushing pressure should be 1.2-1.5 times the working pressure, and each backflushing should last for 3-5 seconds. Afterward, repeat the backflushing process 4-6 times using a cleaning solution for a duration of 3-5 minutes, with 2-3 repetitions.

The cleaning method:

1. According to the pollution situation and the chemical properties of the pollutants, combined with the physical and chemical properties of titanium metal, various methods can be used for regeneration and cleaning. These include physical methods such as clean liquid backflushing, clean gas backflushing, and ultrasonic cleaning. Chemical methods involve the use of dilute acid, dilute alkali, oxidants, surfactants, enzymes, and other cleaning agents. These methods can be used interchangeably depending on the specific requirements.

2. In the pharmaceutical and chemical fields where decarbonization and filtration are required, a combination of backflushing, backwashing, and ultrasonic cleaning methods is often employed to achieve optimal results.

3. In the water production industry, where water-insoluble salts and oxides are commonly found on the filter element's surface, a cleaning effect can be achieved without ultrasonic cleaning by soaking the element in a 5% acid solution.

4. When filtering raw liquids, the cleaning method should be determined based on the chemical properties of the pollutants:

(1) Alkaline washing: Soak the filter element in a 3-5% solution of analytically pure sodium hydroxide at a temperature of approximately 40 degrees Celsius for 30-60 minutes. Ultrasonic cleaning machines are recommended for best results. Once the element has soaked, rinse both the interior and exterior with filtered deionized water or water for injection until the water is neutral, then take the conductivity reading. Dry the element using pure air with a pressure of ≥0.4MPa.

(2) Pickling: Soak the filter element in a 5% acid solution at a temperature of around 40 degrees Celsius for more than 8 hours. Ultrasonic cleaners are recommended. Once the element has soaked, rinse the interior and outside with filtered deionized water or water for injection until the element is neutral, then measure the lateral conductivity. Dry the element using pure air with a pressure of ≥0.4MPa.

(3) Organic pollutants can be cleaned using surfactants, while enzyme-based cleaning is more effective for cell debris pollution systems. In the case of food and beverages, high-concentration citric acid can be used for cleaning.

(4) These methods can be used individually or in alternation. If possible, combining them with an ultrasonic cleaner is recommended for optimal cleaning.
