Properties of Nitinol Alloys Wire
(1) Shape memory
After certain heat treatment, the shape of NiTi shape memory alloy can be recovered automatically. This change is the shape memory property of Nitinol shape memory alloys. Shape memory can be divided into one-way shape memory, two-way shape memory, and overall shape memory according to the recovery state.
(2) Hyperelasticity
The superelasticity of NiTi shape memory alloy is that under the action of external force, the NiTi shape memory alloy is deformed, and the superelasticity of NiTi shape memory alloy returns to its original state after the external force is removed. The superelastic deformation of NiTi shape memory alloy will directly lead to the martensitic transformation, while the reverse martensitic transformation will occur when the external force is removed.
(3) Damping
NiTi shape memory alloys (SMAS) have good damping properties due to the self-tuning of the phase transition and the interfaces and motions generated during the phase transition.
(4) Resistance
The resistance of martensitic nickel-titanium shape memory alloys has a linear relationship with the strain during deformation. When transformation occurs, the slope of the curve decreases but maintains a linear relationship before and after martensitic transformation.

(1) Mechanical Engineering
Nickel-titanium shape memory alloys (SMAS) were first used in the mechanical industry for pipe joints and fasteners. Specifically, at the joints of mechanical parts, pipes, etc., when the aircraft is refueled in the air, the Niti shape memory alloy is used for processing the casing whose outer diameter is 3% larger than the inner diameter. At a certain temperature, the expansion rate of the casing is about 8 %. During assembly, the housing was removed from the liquid nitrogen and inserted from both ends. If the temperature rises to the normal temperature, the temperature can be changed by electric heating. The shape memory alloy of the nickel-titanium alloy of the fuel filler is deformed, and the casing made of the shape-memory alloy of nickel-titanium alloy shrinks to form a tight seal, which realizes tight oil leakage, which is much better than traditional welding. Therefore, nickel-titanium shape memory alloys are especially suitable for aerospace, ships, oil pipelines, and other fields. (2) Construction industry

Isolators are also available in Nitinol shape memory alloy designs. The deformation of NiTi shape memory alloy can increase the energy dissipation of deformation displacement and prevent the transmission of seismic energy to the upper structure, thereby protecting the upper structure and truly improving the seismic performance of the structure.
(3) Aerospace industry
In aircraft hydraulic systems, nearly every aircraft requires the use of 800 Nitinol shape memory alloy joints. Most U.S. Navy aircraft have used this fitting since the 1970s and have no record of failures. In addition, NiTi shape memory alloys can also be used in spacecraft antennas, electromechanical actuators, etc.
(4) Automobile industry
Nickel-titanium shape memory alloys are mainly used in engine exhaust fan clutches, exhaust nozzles, diesel engine radiators, etc.
