Four elements of metal powder sintering method

(1) If there are multiple components present in the liquid-phase sintered powder compact, the sintering process can occur above the melting point of a specific component, resulting in the formation of a small amount of liquid phase within the powder compact during sintering.

(2) Pressure sintering, also known as hot pressing, involves the application of pressure to the powder body during the sintering process to enhance its densification. Hot pressing combines powder forming and sintering to directly obtain finished products.

(3) Activation sintering employs specific physical or chemical measures during the sintering process to significantly reduce the sintering temperature and shorten the overall sintering time. This approach improves and enhances the performance of the sintered body.

(4) Electric spark sintering involves the application of direct current and pulsed electricity to the powder body during the forming and pressing stages. This generates an arc between the powder particles, enabling sintering, while gradually applying pressure to the workpiece. This process combines both forming and sintering into a single operation.
