The Sintered Metal Sparger Diffuser is an apparatus employed to introduce gases, such as oxygen or carbon dioxide, into liquids. It comprises a porous metal component designed to facilitate the passage of gas through it and into the liquid. Typically constructed from materials like titanium or stainless steel, this porous element is manufactured using a process known as sintering. Sintering involves heating metal powder to high temperatures until it fuses together to form a solid piece.

 

When gas is introduced into the sparger diffuser, it traverses the porous metal element and disperses into the liquid in the form of small bubbles. The size of these bubbles can be controlled by adjusting the pore size of the metal component. Smaller pore sizes generate smaller bubbles, while larger pore sizes produce larger bubbles.

The Sintered Metal Sparger Diffuser is usually installed within a tank or vessel and connected to a gas supply line. The gas is introduced into the diffuser at a controlled flow rate, determining the quantity of gas injected into the liquid.
