How to clean titanium rod filter elements more safely?

double-flat Ti tubeCleaning titanium rod filter elements can be done using the following safer approaches:

Alkaline Cleaning: Start by soaking the filter elements in a solution of 3-5% analytically pure sodium hydroxide at a temperature of approximately 40 degrees Celsius. It is recommended to use an ultrasonic cleaner for better results. After soaking, neutralize the elements inside and outside using filtered deionized water or water for injection. Measure the conductivity and then blow dry with clean air at 0.4Mpa. This method is widely used and highly popular.

Pickling: After alkali washing, proceed with pickling. This involves soaking the elements in a 5% nitric acid solution at a temperature of around 40 degrees Celsius for at least 8 hours. Ultrasonic cleaners can be used effectively in this process. After pickling, neutralize the elements inside and outside using filtered deionized water or water for injection. Measure the conductivity and then blow dry with clean air at 0.4Mpa.

These two methods are commonly employed for cleaning titanium filter elements and are relatively simple. However, it is crucial to exercise caution during the cleaning process. You can use them individually or in combination. If an ultrasonic cleaning machine is available, it can significantly enhance the cleaning effectiveness. Additionally, different cleaning methods can be chosen based on the type of pollutants. Organic pollution can be addressed with active agents, cell debris pollution can be treated with combined enzymes, and food and beverage pollution can be cleaned using high-concentration citric acid, which yields better results.
