New Protective Helmet Made Of Titanium Alloy

According to reports, military personnel from the Russian army have developed a new protective helmet called "Bars-L." This helmet is made of high-strength titanium alloy material and boasts excellent protective performance. It is set to make its debut at the ExpoTechGuard exhibition in St. Petersburg.

640The protective area and external components of the "Bars-L" helmet are similar to the mass-produced "Elbrus-T" armored helmet. However, there are differences in shape and protective characteristics. In contrast to the "Elbrus-T" helmet, the developers of "Bars-L" have incorporated a solid titanium alloy shell design, significantly enhancing its protective capabilities. Although the weight of the helmet has slightly increased (approximately 100-120 grams), its outstanding protective performance compensates for this effectively.

It is reported that the "Bars-L" helmet has achieved a bulletproof protection level of BR2+, meaning that it can withstand the impact of automatic bullets within a certain distance. Additionally, the helmet provides excellent protection against fragmentation, effectively preventing standard fragments flying at speeds of 700-720 meters per second. The developers point out that this level of protection surpasses helmets made of aramid or ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene materials.

Although the "Bars-L" helmet has not yet entered mass production, it is planned to be provided to Russian law enforcement agencies. Kalashnikov Concern emphasizes that titanium alloy helmets have always been a flagship product of the Steel Research Institute. Various titanium alloy helmets, including "Altyn," 6B6-3, and "Lynx-T," not only play a significant role within the power structures of Russia but also find extensive application in the former Soviet Union republics.
